Today the Belarus State Agricultural Academy is the largest multidisciplinary agricultural institute of higher education among the countries of CIS and Europe. Throughout its history BSAA has trained over 80 000 highly qualified specialists for the country’s agro-industrial complex and other sectors of the national economy. Many of its graduates have become prominent statesmen, scientists, heads of large establishments, enterprises, and made a great contribution to the development of the country’s national economy.
The first president of the Republic of Belarus has graduated from the BSAA. And the Academy is proud of this fact. For the outstanding achievements, managerial abilities and professionalism in work, 22 academy graduates were given the Title of Hero of Socialist Labor, 16 graduates – Honored Worker of Science and Technology, 60 – Honorary Figure of Agriculture. Among the alumni of the BSAA there are 21 academicians and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 4 acting rectors of Belarusian universities, 36% of the chairmen of the district executive committees, 40% of heads of departments of agricultural management district executive committees and nearly half of the heads of the national agricultural enterprises.
